What is a health and life coach?

A health and life coach helps you put momentum into the things you want in your life.

I invite my clients to a judgment free space where they can talk, reflect on their comments, bounce some ideas around and land on action items that feel right. When you  land on an action item, I am there in your corner, rooting for you, checking on your progress, encouraging you, holding you accountable to your commitments, and looking at your roadblocks and strategizing how to get around them.

Why do I need a coach?

You don’t. But hiring a coach might help you.

What will having a coach do for me?

A coach that uses the Habit Change Coaching Method will help you identify your bad habits, understand your obstacles, uncover your unknown hold-ups and kick you into action for change in your fitness habits to get you into great shape.

If we work on my goals in my style, why do I need a coach?

Like I said, you don’t. But having a coach may give you the extra nudge to stick with what you commit to, celebrate your successes, and keep you focused on your progress.

Are coaching and counseling the same thing?

No.

Counselors and therapists may have clinical background to address trauma. Counseling and therapy can be like looking in the rearview to see what happened and determine how to heal. Coaching can be like looking through the windshield to determine where you want to go and how to get there.

So, do you have a certification?

Yes.

I'm a Master Certified Transformational Coach and certified as a health and life coach through Health Coach Institute, a training program recognized by the International Coaching Federation

I have additional certifications in advanced nutrition, mountain bike skills coaching, and I'm a coach member of Positive Intelligence.

What is your system and what does it include?

I apply the Habit Change Coaching Method to fitness habits. It uses communication strategies; meditation, journaling, and intuition techniques; reflective and transformational questions, neuro-linguistic programming to rewire your brain's neural pathways, and most importantly: ACTION.

I want you to feel seen and heard and I’m going to ask you lots of questions, and tell you what I hear you saying. Together, we may explore new perspectives, and we may bounce around some ideas. We’ll always end a session with action. That’s what coaching is about- committing to action to get you closer to where you want to be.

It’s a 90 day program during which we meet for ten sessions. 2 sessions are 90 minute deep dives and the rest are 45 minutes. At the end of each session we’ll end with action items. I may give you a little homework, and each week we'll check in on your progress.

Does it really work?

Yes! Clients get results.

I had my doubts about coaching when I first heard about it, but I thought I’d give it a shot and I’ve seen my life change. Then I had doubts that my clients would get results, but they do. Look at my clients’ success stories to see what people experience. My clients report feeling less stressed, more confident, more calm, more focused, and vibrant. I was amazed when two clients in one week told me they felt like the most vibrant version of themselves. Was “vibrant” featured in a viral meme that week? No. It was a spontaneous result of coaching.

How soon can I expect results?

Immediately.

You’re signing up because you’re ready for a change- so let’s get started.

But really, many clients experience results after the first session. Like you, they are ready to take action, and the coaching experience provides focus and a boost to get started.

My goal for our initial meeting- our foundation session- is to bring your goals into focus and create a plan to move you closer to them. You’ll complete our first session with action items, so we don’t waste any time moving toward results.

How much does it cost?

See pricing and plans.

Specials are available on all programs for Flagstaff work-hard play-hard people.

Custom Programs are Custom Prices. If you’re curious about a custom program, such as meeting every other week, let’s talk.

How much time does it take?

That’s up to you. We’re talking about your goals- your health, your career, your relationships- and your time. These are things that are important to you. More time may not translate to more results. We’re looking for progress that is do-able. Little actions can have a big impact. Remember: small hinges swing big doors.

How did you get started?

I'm going to have to share some vulnerable stuff if you want to know my story. Choosing to become a health coach was motivated by my own health journey.

I had a mysterious skin infection that led to a bacterial gut infection. If you’ve had a bacterial gut infection, you know you want to solve it right away. It took over a year of doctors, experts and experimentation to manage my infections. I had allies along the way, and a health coach and nutrition therapist helped me implement a 90-day diet and lifestyle experiment. The results were astounding: I cleared my skin infection, beat fatigue, created a healthy gut biome and have maintained my results for over 5 years.

As I began working with clients, I narrowed my niche to fitness habits. The habit change coaching method recognizes action as the secret sauce of coaching and can be applied daily to improve peoples lives.

Outside of my infections, the health and life coaching improved my mental health and well being, reduced my physical stress and joint pain, got me out of therapy for chronic back pain, and those factors combined to open the door to foster meaningful relationships and a new experience of financial freedom. Having been through my own transformation, I know health and life coaching has profound results. I’ve continued working with my own coaches, and I am honored that I can help other people through their transformation.

What else do you do?

Since I’m wired with a go-go-go mentality, I serve as a facilitator and strategist with Lancaster LeadershipI’m a part time mountain bike skills instructor with Sedona Mountain Bike AcademyArizona Trail Association’s Gear Girls, and Norco Dirt Series; co-founder of Flagstaff Lady Shredders; a ski patroller at Arizona Snowbowl and member of the Association of Professional Patrollers and National Ski Patrol; and I play keyboard in the mountain bike rock back Thee Deores. I love riding my bike, skiing, camping, getting on the water, and having fun with friends and loved ones.

I want to work with you. How do I sign up?

Send me a message. We’ll schedule a time over the phone, text, or email to meet remotely for a no-cost, no-commitment Foundation Session. I have two goals for the Foundation Session:  it will develop a plan for you to get from where you currently are, to where you want to be, and it will help us get to know each other and see if working together for a 90 day program feels like a good fit.

I like what you’re about. How do I get to know you better?
